Blocked account as proof of financial livelihood Proof of financial livelihood is a prerequisite for obtaining your visa and residency permit for study purposes in Germany. With the help of a blocked account you can provide this proof. A blocked account is a special account that you are not allowed to access freely. The money belongs to you, but you have to consider some special points. Before you enter Germany, you can apply for a blocked account quickly and easily online.

You can apply for the blocked account from the comfort of your own home. You only need a copy of your passport. After you have applied for the blocked account and the blocked account service provider has successfully reviewed your application, you will receive all relevant documents by e-mail.

  1. Enter your personal information online and upload your passport.
  2. Receive your blocked account number and checking account number (IBAN) from VietinBank within one business day.
  3. Transfer the blocked amount and the corresponding fees.
  4. After receipt of the money: Receive your blocking certificate for your visa application directly from VietinBank.
  5. Your journey to Germany can begin!
  6. Activate your blocked account and your checking account fast and easy online after your arrival to Germany!

FYI (for your information) Blocked AccountPlease note that the amount you have paid in will remain blocked until you have arrived to Germany. You are then allowed to withdraw the maximum amount stipulated of €934 per month.
A further requirement for obtaining a visa for Germany is proof of health insurance coverage. You can take out your health insurance as well as open a blocked account directly with us.
